TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS AND WAIVING SECOND READING - State LETF Contract Services and Police Pension Fund
BODY
WHEREAS, the City has received an equitable share of funds seized by the State related to two cases from 2019 and 2020; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the amount received is required to be disbursed to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office; and
WHEREAS, as the receipt of these funds was not anticipated, appropriations to pay the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office were not previously authorized; and
WHEREAS, property taxes received for police pension were lower than expected and a supplemental appropriation is necessary for police pension expense due to contract negotiations; and
WHEREAS, the Administration requests a transfer to the Police Pension Fund from the Public Safety Fund to cover the full cost of police pension expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the Administration requests waiver of second reading so that supplemental appropriations and transfers to address the unanticipated expenditures associated with these items can be made within Fiscal Year 2022.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of eight thousand five hundred dollars ($8,500) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated unencumbered State LETF Fund as follows:
225.10.000.5205 State LETF Contract Services: $8,500
Section 2. That funding in the amount of fifty-six thousand dollars is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated unencumbered Public Safety Fund as follows:
240.10.110.5900 Public Safety Transfers Out: $56,000
Section 3. That the second reading is hereby waived.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
