TITLE
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES FOR PERSONNEL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2023 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2023, WAIVING SECOND READING AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BODY
WHEREAS, the Administration has proposed adjustments to the salaries for non-union personnel to include a 3.25 percent wage increase for employees outside of the step program; and
WHEREAS, the proposed adjustments include additions of position titles and pay grades to conform with the 2023 proposed budget; and
WHEREAS, the proposed adjustments also include updated pay rates for seasonal, variable hour, and temporary non-exempt classifications to align with increases in pay ranges; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends passage of the Ordinance with waiver of second reading and declaration of an emergency immediately necessary for the preservation of public peace, safety, health, and welfare of the City to have salaries in place for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That where not in conflict with the Charter, Ordinances, or lawfully promulgated rules and regulations of the City of Gahanna, the 2023 Salary Ordinance for personnel of the City of Gahanna, is hereby enacted as noted in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That the salaries for the personnel of the City of Gahanna shall not be effective until January 1, 2023.
Section 3. That any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here within are hereby repealed.
Section 4. The second reading is hereby waived.
Section 5. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared an emergency measure which shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
