TITLE
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE DISSOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY URBAN REDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
BODY
WHEREAS, in the late 1970s, the City of Gahanna owned property designated in The Industrial Zone (“TIZ”) of which the City leased to developers and business owners; and
WHEREAS, at the end of the lease year, said property title would transfer to the developer or business owner pursuant to the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Gahanna Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation (“CURC”) was established to oversee the TIZ and management of property titles; and
WHEREAS, the last of the City-owned properties within the TIZ were transferred in 2014; and
WHEREAS, there is no further purpose to be served by the CURC and its governing board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That in consideration of the foregoing facts, this Council hereby dissolves the Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation.
Section 2. That the City Attorney is authorized to prepare and file necessary paperwork to dissolve the Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
