TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN STRUCTUREPOINT INC. FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES RELATED TO THE WYNNE RIDGE COURT BRIDGE REPLACEMENT - PID 116417
BODY
WHEREAS, in 2021, the Wynne Ridge Court bridge was identified as a failing structure in the Ohio Bridge Inspection Summary Report; and
WHEREAS, the inspection report noted large spalls, heavy scaling, and wide cracks in the culvert; and
WHEREAS, the rotation of the southeast wingwall has created erosion and loss of retained fill at the gap between the southeast wingwall and the upstream headwall, which has worsened in 2022; and
WHEREAS, the City issued and received three requests for qualifications (RFQs) for professional engineering design services for replacement of the bridge; and
WHEREAS, American Structurepoint Inc. was selected as the best qualified to meet the professional design work needed for the bridge’s replacement; and
WHEREAS, the technical proposal, scope, and fees for professional design services is $384,046, and with an additional 10 percent contingency planned, the total project amount is $422,450.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Council authorizes the Mayor to enter into contract or professional design services with AMERICAN STRUCTUREPOINT INC. of 2550 CORPORATE EXCHANGE DRIVE, SUITE 300, COLUMBUS, OH 43231 for FRA-Wynne Ridge Court Replacement (PID 116417) in accordance with contract terms set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That the total cost of the project, including the 10 percent contingency, in the amount of $422,450 is already appropriated from 325.06.550.5500.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
