TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN ROCK SALT CO LLC FOR ROAD SALT FOR THE 2022-2023 WINTER SEASON
BODY
WHEREAS, the Southwest Ohio Purchasers for Government (SWOP4G) invites members of the organization (local governments and political subdivisions) to partner with them for the cooperative purchase of road salt each winter season; and
WHEREAS, on July 14, 2022, bids for road salt for the 2022-2023 winter season were opened and reviewed; and
WHEREAS, the lowest and best bidder for Gahanna’s road salt needs is American Rock Salt Co LLC, with a bid price of $71.84 per ton plus a $0 per ton piling charge; and
WHEREAS, there are currently sufficient funds appropriated in the 2022 budget to pay for this contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor and Director of Public Service are hereby authorized to enter into contract with AMERICAN ROCK SALT CO LLC, 5520 ROUTE 63, MT. MORRIS, NY 14510, for road salt purchases for the 2022-2023 winter season, with the Bid Tab attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
