AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE EXTENSION OF TECH CENTER DRIVE.

WHEREAS, the Department of Economic Development requests approval from Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into a grant agreement with Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to receive funding for ODOT’s Jobs & Commerce program related to the extension of Tech Center Drive in the Central Park Development; and
WHEREAS, Council previously passed ORD-0062-2021 in support of the Development Agreement related to Project Gaul; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be utilized towards the noted public infrastructure improvements related to that project, in which the City previously committed up to $250,000 of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds to support the project; and
WHEREAS, the program is reimbursable and eligible expenses will be submitted to the City on behalf of any assignees of the agreement related to the project and will be applied in accordance to all requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to enter into a grant agreement with Ohio Department of Transportation, 1980 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43223, to receive funding for the extension of Tech Center Drive, said agreement attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
