AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH RUMPKE WASTE AND RECYCLING SERVICES FOR RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING IN THE CITY OF GAHANNA

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna participates in a solid waste consortium that consists of ten other communities in the Central Ohio area and the consortium obtained bids for a new recycling contract; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened on April 15, 2021, and the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder has been recommended by the Administration and by the solid waste consortium; and
WHEREAS, included in the terms of the Contract, the City will receive fifty (50) percent of the revenue realized by processing expenses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with RUMPKE Waste and Recycling Services, 1191 Fields Ave., Columbus, OH 43201 for collection of residential recycling in the City of Gahanna, in accordance with bid and City specifications; said contract attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding will be set aside in the 2022 Appropriations, as well as subsequent years, to cover any herein costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
