RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT A FORMAL GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE 2020 CORONAVIRUS EMERGENCY SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING GRANT; AND TO AUTHORIZE THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO ESTABLISH A SPECIAL FUND FOR THE GRANT, IF AWARDED.
BODY
WHEREAS, the Division of Police is requesting authorization by Council for the City’s application to the OCJS Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Grant for the reimbursement of expenses due to the current COVID-19 situation; and
WHEREAS, this is a rolling grant opportunity that may involve more than one funding cycle for the City, depending on the actions of Congress; and
WHEREAS, further, the Finance Director is hereby authorized to establish a special fund for the grant if awarded,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to submit a formal grant application for the 2020 Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Grant.
Section 2. That the Finance Director is hereby authorized to establish special fund 2500 - CARES ACT FUND for the grant, if awarded.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
