ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE AND ENGINEERING TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH DLZ FOR CREEKSIDE GARAGE SURVEYING AND ENGINEERING, WAIVING SECOND READING AND DECLARING IT AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City-owned Creekside Garage was constructed in 2006; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City is required to maintain up to date records in line with FEMA requirements and in order to have up to date documentation, we have requested a proposal from DLZ Engineering team, for surveying services, hydraulic & (H&H) modeling, and geotechnical and structural engineering associated with the underground parking garage; and,

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this Ordinance for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. The Mayor and Director of Public Service and Engineering are authorized to enter into contract with DLZ, 6121 Huntley Rd, Columbus, OH 43229-1003 for Creekside Garage Surveying and Engineering Services. Contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That funding in the amount of one hundred seventy seven thousand, three hundred thirty seven dollars and fifty cents ($177,335.50) was set aside in the 2020 appropriations in Account No. 101.11.450.5505, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  Pursuant to Gahanna City Code Section 135.05(e)(6) competitive bidding is hereby waived (professional and personal services).

 

Section 4.  That the second reading is hereby waived.

 

Section 5. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
