TO AMEND THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION RULES & REGULATIONS AS RECOMMENDED TO CITY COUNCIL ON APRIL 3, 2019; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.
BODY
WHEREAS, the Division of Police and Human Resources request changes to the hiring process for Police Officers and Police Radio Dispatchers to allow for a more streamlined hiring process; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission met on April 2, 2019, to review proposed changes to the rules and regulations, and voted to recommend those changes to Council for passage; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this legislation in order to begin implementing the new hiring process, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the City of Gahanna Civil Service Commission Rules and Regulations are hereby amended; Rules and Regulations are attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
