A RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE CHAR MCCASLAND FOR HER MANY YEARS OF CREATIVE CONTRIBUTIONS AS A FOUNDER AND PRODUCER OF THE GAHANNA COMMUNITY THEATRE.

WHEREAS, the Gahanna Community Theatre (GCT) was founded by Char McCasland in 1984, in pursuit of her dream to enrich the community with arts; and
WHEREAS, McCasland has produced 36 musicals throughout the past 35 years with GCT, including classics such as “Oklahoma,” “Annie,” and “The Sound of Music”; and
WHEREAS, generations of local performers have grown together as a family because of the welcoming atmosphere created by McCasland, and worked together as a team to pull off full scale musicals each year, as witnessed by thousands of people; and
WHEREAS, the final curtain fell on February 24, 2019, at the last production, “Beauty and the Beast.”
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby recognizes Char McCasland for her many years of creative contributions as a founder and producer of the Gahanna Community Theatre.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council.
