TITLE

TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH BALDWIN GROUP INC., FOR MAYOR’S COURT SOFTWARE, ONLINE DOCKETING & PAYMENTS MODULE, AND TO SIGN A STANDARD DISCLAIMER, FOR THE INSTALLATION OF NEW COURT SOFTWARE.

Body

WHEREAS, the current Mayor’s Court software, CourtTrac is reaching end of life, and the company will no longer update the software to ensure that it stays compatible with changing operating systems; and

WHEREAS, the software will never be compatible with the City’s current version of Windows and therefore the Police Department and Mayor’s Court cannot move forward with a complete e-ticketing/ticket import module; and

WHEREAS, the court will be at risk of non-compliance with Criminal Justice Information Systems security standards, if they remain using the current software.

WHEREAS, after reviewing options, the Police Department, City Attorney, and Clerk of Court agree that the best approach will be for the Gahanna Mayor’s Court to migrate to The Baldwin Group Inc. (BGI) court software package.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with The Baldwin Group Inc., 7550 Lucerne Dr., Ste. 306, Cleveland, OH 44130, for Mayor’s Court software; said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

Section 2. That funds from the 2018 Clerk Comp Capital Fund (Clerk of Court Computer Fund) 22904000-5510 were held over into 2019 to cover this project.

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
