TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO ADDENDUM TO EXTEND SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR A THREE YEAR PERIOD WITH SEDGWICK CMS, AS THE PROVIDER FOR THIRD PARTY ADMINISTRATION SERVICES FOR THE SELF INSURED WORKERS COMPENSATION PROGRAM AND STATE FUND CLAIMS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc. is a third-party administrator (TPA) for our workers compensation claims; and
WHEREAS, the Acting Director of Human Resources is recommending we extend the agreement for a period of three years, to December 31, 2021, so we can continue to utilize their services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Addendum to Extend Service Agreement for an Additional Period of three years, with Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc., 3455 Mill Run Drive, Suite 800, Hilliard, Ohio 43026, for Third Party Administration of our self-insured workers compensation program and state fund claims; said Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
