Title

TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH RUMPKE WASTE & RECYCLING SERVICES, FOR 2020 RECYCLING TIPPING/PROCESSING FEES FOR THE CITY OF GAHANNA.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna participates in a solid waste consortium that consists of nine other communities in the Central Ohio area and the consortium chose to bid recycling processing separately from refuse hauling; and

 

WHEREAS, the term of this Agreement shall be for two (2) years, beginning on January 1, 2020 and terminating on December 31, 2021; and

 

WHEREAS, this Agreement may be renewed for up to two (2) additional consecutive terms of up to one (1) year each upon the sole discretion of the City, at a price in accordance with the amount provided in the Bid Form; and

 

WHEREAS, the contract price beginning in 2020 will be thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per ton with a revenue sharing clause that allows the City of Gahanna to receive fifty (50) percent of recycling revenue realized beyond expenses, and

 

WHEREAS, revenue share will be capped at twenty dollars ($20.00) per ton.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with RUMPKE WASTE & RECYCLING SERVICES, 1191 Fields Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201, for recycling processing services for the City of Gahanna, in accordance with bid and City specifications; said contract attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.

 

Section 3.  That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
