TITLE
TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH DOUBLE Z CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE BIG WALNUT TRAIL SECTION 4, ST-1040 AND MCKENNA CREEK RESTORATION, ST-1058.
BODY
WHEREAS, this section of trail will connect Big Walnut Trail Section 5 along Olde Ridenour Road to the existing Big Walnut Trail Section 3 located on Nob Hill Drive; and
WHEREAS, this section of trail is a critical link for the overall Big Walnut Trail system, ultimately creating a completed trail system from Morse Road south to Rocky Fork Drive South; and
WHEREAS, the Big Walnut Trail project will also incorporate approximately 400’ of stream improvements and a dam removal to restore a riparian corridor, a stable channel pattern, and provide a solution that improves water quality and aquatic habitat; and
WHEREAS, on March 23, 2018, bids were opened and reviewed and the lowest responsive and responsible bidder was Double Z Construction Company.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Double Z Construction Company, 2550 Harrison Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43204, for the Big Walnut Trail Section 4 ST-1040 and McKenna Creek Restoration ST-1058; said Contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
