TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH DECKER CONSTRUCTION FOR THE 2018 STREET PROGRAM, ST-1054.

WHEREAS, bids were opened and reviewed on March 9, 2018, pursuant to Council authorization, and the best, responsible, and responsive bidder has been recommended by the City Engineer for construction services of the 2018 Street Program; and
WHEREAS, a total of five bids were received with the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder being Decker Construction; and
WHEREAS, this year’s street program consists of asphalt resurfacing, crack sealing, street rebuilds, striping, and waterline improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering has recommended we proceed with the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder which was below the Engineer’s estimate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Decker Construction, 3040 McKinley Ave. Columbus, OH 43204, for the 2018 Street Program, ST-1054; said Contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of THREE MILLION EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN DOLLARS ($3,816,517) was set aside in prior year appropriations and 2018 appropriations to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
