TO AMEND CHAPTER 929, WATER CONNECTIONS AND RATES, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA.

WHEREAS, the amendment in Chapter 929.01, Definitions, clarifies the definition of “fixture”; and
WHEREAS, the amendment in Chapter 929.03, Water Tap Charge, modified the wording to make the calculation of water footage fees more clear; and
WHEREAS, the amendment in Chapter 929.10, General Provisions, clarify the portion of the service connection that is the property owner’s responsibility to maintain; and
WHEREAS, the amendment in Chapter 929.12, Water Rates, changed the rates; and
WHEREAS, the amendment in Chapter 929.13, Unpaid Bills, changed wording for clarification purposes; and
WHEREAS, the amendment in Chapter 929.15, Private Fire Protection Service, upgraded unmetered fire line rate; and
WHEREAS, the amendment in Chapter 929.17, Special Charges, did a cleanup of the chart, minor wording changes for clarification purposes, increased the per month cost of a hydrant permit from $25 to $50, added a project water use agreement, added a $500 penalty for “Trip to turn off service as a result of fraud or illegal diversion of water, unauthorized turn on of water, meter tampering, bypass of meter, or other violation of the rules and regulations of the Director of Public Service.”
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Chapter 929, Water Connections and Rates, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna is hereby amended as set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto.
Section 2. That existing Chapter 929, Water Connections and Rates, or any Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
