TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH FRANKLIN COUNTY FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM.
BODY
WHEREAS, Franklin County is the annual recipient of three federal allocations; and
WHEREAS, every three years the County must complete a Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) recertification to allow jurisdictions such as yours to participate in the County’s federal programs and continue to receive its benefits; and
WHEREAS, Gahanna last authorized this cooperative agreement in 2014 through ORD-0096-2014; and
WHEREAS, by opting in, the population of Gahanna is counted in the calculation that HUD uses to determine allocations and serves to increase the final funding amounts the County will receive; and
WHEREAS, the administration requests the Mayor be authorized to sign the cooperative agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with Franklin County for participation in the Franklin County Community Development Block Grant Program.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
