TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF THE OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION (OPWC) CLEAN OHIO CONSERVATION FUND GRANT AGREEMENT FOR THE BIG WALNUT TRAIL SECTION 4 - MCKENNA CREEK DAM REMOVAL AND RESTORATION PROJECT.

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the OPWC grant authorized by Resolution, RES-0027-2016, was granted by OPWC in the amount of $272,090 for the McKenna Creek dam removal and restoration portion of the Big Walnut Trail Section 4 project; and

 

WHEREAS, the Big Walnut Trail project will impact this area and incorporate approximately 400 feet of stream improvements; and

 

WHEREAS, the dam removal will restore a riparian corridor, a stable channel pattern, and provide a solution that improves water quality and aquatic habitat.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement with the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC), 65 East State Street, Suite 312, Columbus, OH 43215; said agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature approval by the Mayor.
