TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PROPERTY/LIABILITY INSURANCE RENEWAL COMMITMENT FOR THREE YEARS WITH THE OHIO MUNICIPAL JOINT SELF-INSURANCE POOL.
BODY
WHEREAS, Gahanna has obtained property/liability insurance coverage from the Ohio Municipal Joint Self-Insurance Pool (OMJSP) for the last ten years and Gahanna serves on the board of trustees; and
WHEREAS, OMJSP has extended rate reductions over the years, which have kept them extremely competitive and their service is impeccable; and
WHEREAS, funds are available to cover the first year of the policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a three-year Commitment with the Ohio Municipal Joint Self Insurance Pool, 3900 Kinross Lakes Parkway, Richfield, Ohio 44286, to renew property/liability insurance; said Commitment attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funds have been set aside in 2017 appropriations to cover the first year of the herein costs.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
