TITLE

 

TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO NEGOTIATED LABOR AGREEMENT TITLED "AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF GAHANNA AND UNITED STEEL, PAPER & FORESTRY, RUBBER, MANUFACTURING, ENERGY, ALLIED INDUSTRIAL AND SERVICE WORKERS INTERNATIONAL”, TO BE EFFECTIVE JANUARY 2, 2017 THROUGH JANUARY 1, 2020.

WHEREAS, Legal Counsel for the City, City Administrative Designees, and the United Steel, Paper & Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International, have negotiated the pay and benefit package for the classified employees of the City of Gahanna, and have made recommendation to this Council; and

 

WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate by this Council for employee morale and continuity of City business to proceed with new legislation for salary and benefit provisions to be effective January 2, 2017.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into negotiated Labor Agreement, "AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF GAHANNA AND UNITED STEEL, PAPER & FORESTRY, RUBBER, MANUFACTURING, ENERGY, ALLIED INDUSTRIAL AND SERVICE WORKERS INTERNATIONAL, to be effective January 2, 2017 through January 1, 2020"; said Agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That the current Agreement expired on January 1, 2017 and the pay and benefits of this Agreement shall be retro effective to January 2, 2017.

 

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
