TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND JENNIFER TEAL FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE LEAN SIX SIGMA BLACK BELT CERTIFICATION.
BODY
WHEREAS, Jennifer Teal started with the City of Gahanna in 2009 and held the position of Deputy Director of Finance, Director of Finance, and now holds the position of City Administrator; and
WHEREAS, In her position as City Administrator, Jennifer has effectively demonstrated knowledge of the Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools in the projects she has planned and executed for the City of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, In order to be certified, Jennifer had to possess a thorough understanding of all aspects of the "define, measure, analyze, improve and control" model in accordance with the Six Sigma principles. Jennifer's knowledge of lean enterprise concepts demonstrated leadership and an ability to identify non-value-added elements which has contributed to Gahanna's lean goals; and
WHEREAS, Over a period of several months and while taking on additional duties in her role as City Administrator, Jennifer worked diligently to earn the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer's knowledge of lean enterprise concepts, demonstrated leadership and ability to identify non-value-added elements have contributed to Gahanna's lean goals; and
WHEREAS, Through the knowledge she has attained, Jennifer has been instrumental in the implementation of the GoForward Gahanna city-wide strategic plan; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer is currently working with each department to create their specific strategic goals that are in alignment with the GoForward Gahanna plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby recognizes and commends Jennifer Teal for the achievement of the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
