TITLE
TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONSENT LEGISLATION WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (ODOT) FOR BRIDGE INSPECTION PROGRAM SERVICES FUNDED BY THE STATE OF OHIO.

WHEREAS, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will be performing bridge inspection in municipalities to meet the requirements for safe bridges nationally; and
WHEREAS, this service will provide inspection for all 20 of our bridges that require annual inspection by the State of Ohio for 2017, 2018, and 2019 at no cost to the City; and
WHEREAS, ODOT is requiring legislation from the City of Gahanna to consent to the bridge inspection services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to consent to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) bridge inspection program, funded by the State of Ohio, 1980 West Broad Street, Third Floor - Mail Stop 5180, Columbus, Ohio 43223-1102; Preliminary Legislation is attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
