TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH CARPENTER MARTY TO PERFORM A WEST SIDE INTERSECTION ALTERNATIVE ANALYSIS.
BODY
WHEREAS, the GoForward Gahanna Strategic Plan identifies Strategic Result 2.3, West Side Intersection Completed; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the Strategic Result states that by 2021, west Gahanna residents and visitors will be able to travel through improved and maintained intersections on Stygler, Agler and US 62, according to traffic flow, and traffic safety standards so that development and redevelopment projects can proceed; and
WHEREAS, as part of the Economic Development Strategy adopted earlier this year, one possible alternative to help improve these intersections was presented and studied as part of the West Side Priority Development Area (PDA); and
WHEREAS, an Economic Development Community Engagement Committee was formed to perform a comprehensive review of the strategy; and
WHEREAS, one of the final recommendations of this Committee was to evaluate and pursue alternative options to the proposed roadway alignments presented in the Economic Development Strategy for the West Side PDA; and
WHEREAS, through the Quality Based Selection process, Carpenter Marty has been selected to perform the West Side Intersection Alternatives Analysis.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with CARPENTER MARTY, 6612 Singletree Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43229, for a West Side Intersection Alternative Analysis; said Contract attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED AND SIXTY NINE DOLLARS ($114,769) was set aside in 2016 appropriations in Account No. 101.145.5249, Engineering Contract Services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon pass...
