TO AMEND CHAPTER 148, DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT, OF PART ONE, ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA; AND TO IMPLEMENT A DEVELOPMENT FEE SCHEDULE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, an Ordinance was passed by City Council on April 18, 2016, (ORD-0033-2016) authorizing amendments to Part One, Administrative Code, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, the amendments passed were to accommodate the move of the Building and Zoning Division to the Service Department; and
WHEREAS, the amendments inadvertently removed language necessary and specific to the needs of the Planning and Development Department; and
WHEREAS, the current amendments establish language for a Development Fee Schedule, address code consistency and updates to better reflect the daily operations and management changes in the department in the Codified Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, the title of the fee schedule was amended by Ordinance, ORD-0035-2016, to accommodate the move of the Building and Zoning Division; and
WHEREAS, a separate fee schedule for the Planning and Development Department is necessary to process applications specific to the department; and
WHEREAS, the fee amounts are not changed from what has been previously adopted; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this legislation in order to allow staff to process pending applications in a timely manner, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Chapter 148, Department of Planning and Development, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna is hereby amended as set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
