TITLE
SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - Sewer Capacity Fee.
BODY
WHEREAS, as the budget request is prepared each year it is necessary to estimate the amount of sanitary capacity fees that we will need to pay the City of Columbus for new taps into our lines; and
WHEREAS, in order to calculate the future payments to the City of Columbus, the Department of Public Service averages the prior three years of payments and place that number in our appropriation request; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Planning and Development is having a very strong and positive year so far, which is depleting the City’s sewer capacity account; and
WHEREAS, we have paid the City of Columbus $84,221 for the 1st quarter of sewer tie-ins, leaving the City with only $84,479 for the rest of the year; and
WHEREAS, due to this positive increase in construction activity, a supplemental appropriation in the amount of $80,000 is requested from the Sanitary Sewer Capital Improvement Fund to cover future expenses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($80,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the Sanitary Sewer Capital Improvement Fund to Account No. 662361.5474, Sanitary Sewer Capacity Charges.
Section 2. That ORD-0136-2015, passed December 21, 2015, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
