TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR THE CLAYCRAFT GENERATOR BOOSTER STATION, ST-1036.

 

BODY

 

WHEREAS, the bid opening for the Claycraft Generator Booster Station project took place on Friday, April 29, 2016; and

 

WHEREAS, this project will provide support to the Claycraft Road Booster Station; and

 

WHEREAS, Jess Howard Electric Company was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at $201,640 and was under the engineer’s estimate of $227,983; and

 

WHEREAS, a 10% contingency is requested in order to cover any unforeseen construction costs which would bring the total amount to $221,805; and


WHEREAS, funds for this project were previously encumbered from 2015 appropriations and no additional funds are requested at this time.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY, 6603 Taylor Road, Blacklick, Ohio, 43004, for the Claycraft Generator Booster Station, ST-1036; said Contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWO HUNDRED TWENTY ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND FIVE DOLLARS ($221,805) has been set aside in 2016 appropriations.

 

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30 days after passage by this Council and date of signature approval by the Mayor.
