TO AMEND PART ONE, ADMINISTRATIVE CODE CHAPTER 143, DEPARTMENT OF LAW, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA.

WHEREAS, the Department of Law has recommended the amendment of Part One of the Administrative Code Chapter 143, Department of Law, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna in order to fulfill its commitment to implement the GoForward Gahanna strategic plan; and
WHEREAS, the amendment of Chapter 143 supports Gahanna’s Mission to ensure an exceptional quality of life by providing comprehensive services, financial stability, and well-planned development which preserves the natural environment, in order that city government will continue to be responsive, accessible, and accountable to our diverse and growing community of citizens; and
WHEREAS, the revisions ensure a responsive, customer-focused government culture for residents, neighborhoods, and the business community by having an updated City code, which will be scheduled for review every 3 years; and
WHEREAS, the amendment addresses code consistency and updates various parts of the chapter to better reflect the new daily operations and management changes in the Department of Law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Part One, Administrative Code Chapter 143, Department of Law, is hereby amended as set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That existing Part One, Administrative Code Chapter 143, Department of Law, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna, or any Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
