TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH ROZZI INC. DBA ROZZIS’ FAMOUS FIREWORKS, TO FURNISH AND LAUNCH THE FIREWORKS DISPLAY ON JULY 4, 2016; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.
BODY
WHEREAS, the City would like to provide a fireworks display for the community and bring back the City’s tradition of sponsoring the event held at the Gahanna Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation is requesting to enter into contract with Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks to provide the fireworks display on July 4, 2016; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this Ordinance so that a deposit can be made in a timely manner, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Rozzi Inc. DBA Rozzis’ Famous Fireworks, PO BOX 5, Loveland, Ohio, 45140, to furnish and launch the fireworks display on July 4, 2016; said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000) is available in Account No. 101.343.5254, Development Promotion, in the 2016 Appropriations to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
