TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH REDZONE ROBOTICS, INC. FOR THE 2016 CCTV & SANITARY SEWER CLEANING PROJECT.

WHEREAS, areas of the City including Gahanna Heights, Valerio Heights and the Colony had sanitary sewers constructed in the late 1950s and 1960s; and

 

WHEREAS, this program was developed as a result of the City's CMOM Program report recently submitted to the Ohio EPA for approval in conjunction with the 2009 Director's Findings and Orders; and

 

WHEREAS, this project is also part of our ongoing sanitary sewer evaluation study and is an area of concern since it is an older part of the City sewer system and may be experiencing excessive infiltration and inflow; and

 

WHEREAS, bids were opened on January 29, 2016 for the CCTV and Sanitary Sewer Cleaning Project; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract with RedZone Robotics, Inc., 91 43rd Street, Pittsburg, PA 15201, for the CCTV & Sanitary Sewer Cleaning Project; bid tab attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($100,000) was set aside in the 2015 appropriations in Account No. 661.360.5596, Sanitary Sewer System Maintenance, to cover the herein costs.


Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
