TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE NATUREWORKS GRANT FOR A RESTROOM STRUCTURE AND PLAYGROUND AT MCCUTCHEON ROAD PARK.

WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation is requesting authorization to apply for grant funds for a restroom structure and playground at McCutcheon Road Park; and
WHEREAS, Natureworks Grant recipients have been awarded between $100,000 and $200,000 for the past few years, depending on available funding in Franklin County; and
WHEREAS, the public planning process for the McCutcheon Road park development will begin later this winter season and several funding mechanisms will be used to fund this park, potentially in phases over time; and
WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Department has, in addition, requested funding from the state capital budget for this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to sign and submit the Natureworks Grant for a restroom structure and playground at McCutcheon Road Park.
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute all documents required by law, policies and agreements in making such application and, if the City is selected as a grant recipient, accepting the grant funds.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and after approval by the Mayor.
