TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) WITH CDW-GOVERNMENT FOR THE DUAL CORE ROUTER REPLACEMENT FOR THE CITY OF GAHANNA’S NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE.

WHEREAS, the replacement of our core router with dual core routers will significantly mitigate our risk of a catastrophic network outage in that if one unit would fail, the other unit would come online; and
WHEREAS, the architecture of two core switches ensures that we keep our network services up and available at all times; and
WHEREAS, the current core router is beyond the recommended lifecycle of six years; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Information Technology requests the Mayor be authorized to enter into a Statement of Work (SOW) with CDW-G in the amount of $21,162; and
WHEREAS, the Statement of Work outlines all service fees for planning, discovery, design, implementation, testing, integration, migration, and initial support after installation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a statement of work with CDW-Government, LLC., 230 North Milwaukee Avenue, Vernon Hills, Illinois 60061, for the dual core router replacement for the City of Gahanna’s network infrastructure, Statement of Work attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY-ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SIXTY-TWO DOLLARS ($21,162) has been set aside in Account No. 101.348.5512, IT Major Capital, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
