TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PERSONAL SERVICES CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF GAHANNA AND WILLIAM E. CONROY, II FOR ELECTRICAL INSPECTION SERVICES; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City is required to have in its employ or under contract, alternate personnel to serve in the event of a conflict of interest or the unavailability of the building official, plans examiner or inspector; and

 

WHEREAS, this is a two-year personal services contract with William E. Conroy II for electrical inspection services and payment is 60% of permit fees per Section 1315.04 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this Ordinance in order to have the contract in effect at the beginning of the 2016 year, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with William E. Conroy II, 1574 Dry Creek, Granville, Ohio 43023, for electrical inspection services per Section 1315.04 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna, said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That sufficient funds will be set aside in the 2016 and 2017 Appropriations to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
