TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH FRANKLIN COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH FOR 2016 CITY OF GAHANNA HEALTH SERVICES; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, Franklin County Public Health performs health services for the City of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, some of the services provided include inspections of sanitary systems, food establishments, hotels, public swimming pools, and spas, and additionally, the health department enforces housing sanitation and performs radon testing; and
WHEREAS, the annual amount of the 2016 program reflects a 5% increase bringing the total to $250,676.21; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds will be requested in the 2016 appropriation request in Account No. 101217.5249, Public Health Contract Services; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this Ordinance in order to have the agreement in effect at the beginning of the 2016 year, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with Franklin County Public Health, 280 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215-4562, for 2016 City of Gahanna Health Services, said agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
