SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - Rock Salt Antitrust Litigation Settlement

WHEREAS, the State of Ohio settled an antitrust lawsuit regarding the restraint of market competition between Morton Salt and Cargill; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna filed a claim for our portion of the settlement and was awarded $14,425; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service is requesting a supplemental appropriation for the funds to be placed in the streets maintenance supplies fund to be used toward the future purchase of rock salt.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That funding in the amount of FOURTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS ($14,425) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Streets Fund to Account No. 220330.5306, Streets Maintenance Supplies.

 

Section 2.  That ORD-0163-2014, passed December 15, 2014, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
