TO ADOPT THE FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY.

WHEREAS, ORD-0144-2014 authorized a contract with Ice Miller Whiteboard, LLC for an update to the City’s Economic Development Strategy; and
WHEREAS, there was a need to re-evaluate the City’s economic strategy;
WHEREAS, representatives from Ice Miller, OHM Advisors and the Danter Group have completed and have presented the findings of the City’s Economic Development Strategy; and
WHEREAS, Council is in agreement that further public engagement is preferred in order to fully consider the City’s Economic Development Strategy; and
WHEREAS, Council desires to form a committee entitled “Economic Development Community Engagement Committee”; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Planning & Development requests the adoption of the Economic Development Strategy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Economic Development Community Engagement Committee shall be comprised of nine (9) members which will be appointed by the President of Council. These members shall consist of four (4) residents of the City of Gahanna, two (2) Council Members and three (3) Administrative Staff.
Section 2: That this Council hereby accepts and adopts the ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY, prepared by Ice Miller, OHM Advisors and the Danter Group, said Strategy attached to this Ordinance as EXHIBIT A.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
