TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF COLUMBUS FOR SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL SERVICES FOR THE 2015-2016 SEASON.

WHEREAS, the City has a need for snow and ice removal services; and
WHEREAS, in the past the City of Gahanna has plowed about 9.71 lane miles of Columbus streets each year; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus pays a contracted rate for each lane mile at a current rate of $760 per lane mile for a total of $7,379.60 each year for such services; and
WHEREAS, historically this agreement was a simple letter-head agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus is now requesting a fully executed contract that requires signature; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has the necessary experience and expertise to provide service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with The City of Columbus for snow and ice removal services, said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
