TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDED GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION (OPWC) FOR THE HAMILTON ROAD CENTRAL PROJECT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the OPWC grant authorized by Resolution 0002-2014 was awarded to the City by the OPWC in the amount of $1,240,000; and
WHEREAS, the OPWC has since then been able to secure additional funds in the amount of $1,291,700 which will increase the total grant amount awarded to the City to $2,531,700; and
WHEREAS, legislation to authorize entering into the amended Grant Agreement with the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) is necessary; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this legislation all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amended Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) grant agreement, for the Hamilton Road Central Project, Grant Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
