TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT MODIFICATION WITH THE CITY OF COLUMBUS FOR MORSE ROAD WIDENING PROJECT (ST 999); AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.
 
Body
WHEREAS, as authorized by ORD-0026-2014, the City of Columbus is planning on widening the portion of Morse Road from the signal at Trellis Lane eastward to the portion already widened by the roundabout at US62; and
 
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna has requested additional improvements including curb and storm sewer in our jurisdiction that would increase our total contribution; and
 
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this legislation as construction is already underway, and all for the preservation of the peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Cooperative Agreement Modification between the City of Columbus, 50 W. Gay Street, 5th Floor, Columbus OH 43215, and the City of Gahanna for the widening of a portion of Morse Road; said Agreement Modification attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
 
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SIX HUNDRED FORTY SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($646,000) has been set aside in the 2015 Appropriations to Account No. 324.122.5513, Bond Proceeds to cover the herein costs.
 
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
