Title

TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH STRAWSER PAVING FOR THE 2015 STREET PROGRAM (ST1029); TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $55,745 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

 

Body

WHEREAS, bids were opened April 3, 2015, pursuant to Council authorization; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended the best, most responsive, and responsible bidder; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this legislation in order to begin construction when school is out, and all for the preservation of the peace, property, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract with STRAWSER PAVING, 1595 Frank Road, Columbus, Ohio 43223, for the 2015 street program in accordance with bid and City specifications, said bid tabulation attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2. That funding was set aside in the 2015 Appropriations as attached in EXHIBIT B to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That funding in the amount of FIFTY FIVE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY FIVE DOLLARS ($55,745) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Permissive Tax Fund to Account No. 231.330.5596, Permissive Tax Fund, to further cover the herein costs.

 

Section 4. That ORD-0163-2014, passed December 15, 2014, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 5. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
