TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR GRADUATE STUDENT INTERNSHIP PLANNING SERVICES; AND TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $7,500 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission is partnering with The Ohio State University to provide graduate student internships for municipalities throughout the Central Ohio Region; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Planning & Development has recognized a need for additional planning services that can be fulfilled by an intern from this program; and
WHEREAS, the intern will assist the Department with creating zoning code and planning guidelines that would be used to direct the development of certain Priority Development Areas throughout the community as well as help the Department update various sections of the zoning code in an effort to create relevant and business friendly regulations;
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward as soon as possible as the projected start date of this program is the beginning of May, and all for the preservation of the peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with The Ohio State University, address, for graduate student internship planning services; said Agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($7,500) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.343.5249, Contract Services to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0163-2014, passed December 15, 2014, hereby reflects this supplemental appropriation.
