TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH FEINKNOPF MACIOCE SCHAPPA ARCHITECTS, INC. FOR PLAN REVIEW AND BACK-UP PERSONNEL; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, as a result of the Six Sigma Process Improvement project, the Department of Planning & Development recognized the need for additional assistance with plan examination services; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the contract services provided to the Department are offset by building permit fees that are collected; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Planning & Development is recommending the City enter into personal services contract with Feinknopf Macioce Schappa Architects, Inc. for back-up Ohio Certified Residential Building Official, back-up Ohio Certified Building Official, and back-up Ohio Certified Master Plans Examiner services;
WHEREAS, it is necessary for additional assistance with plan examination services to effectively ensure that the business of the Building Division of the City moves smoothly into the forthcoming building season, and for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Feinknopf Macioce Schappa Architects, Inc., 995 W. Third Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43212-3109, for plan review and back-up personnel, said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
