TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH LIFE TIME FITNESS, INC., FOR RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF GAHANNA AQUATICS FACILITIES MEMBERSHIP FOR THE YEAR 2015; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the City would like to offer members of Life Time Fitness an opportunity to have rights and privileges at the Gahanna Aquatics Facilities for a discounted rate as an additional amenity to their Life Time Fitness Center Memberships; and
 
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation is recommending we proceed with an agreement for the 2015 season; and
 
WHEREAS, in return for these discounted membership privileges Life Time Fitness, Inc., will pay the City $30,000 for the 2015 season to be paid in monthly installments; and
 
WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this Ordinance since the Gahanna Aquatics Facilities open in May for the season, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Gahanna Swimming Pool Agreement with LIFE TIME FITNESS, INC., 2902 Corporate Place, Chanhassen, MN 55317, for use of the Gahanna Aquatics Facilities for 2015; said agreement attached to this Ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
 
Section 2.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
