TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO LEASE AGREEMENT WITH CENTURY EQUIPMENT INC., FOR THE RENTAL OF FIVE ADDITIONAL GOLF CARTS FOR THE GAHANNA MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Gahanna Municipal Golf Course has added three leagues this year and play is up in general; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation has recommended we proceed to rent five additional golf carts from Century Equipment so there will be carts available for leagues and busy Saturdays; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance so that the golf carts can be available as soon as possible, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Lease Agreement with CENTURY EQUIPMENT, INC., P.O. Box 352889, Toledo, Ohio 43635, for rental of five additional golf carts for the Gahanna Municipal Golf Course; Lease Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWO THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,800) is available in Account No. 101.433.5249, Golf Course Contract Services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
