TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT WITH JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP FOR RESURFACING AND REPAIRS TO SHULL ROAD AND HEADLEY ROAD, IMPROVEMENT NO. 697

WHEREAS, ownership of Shull Road and Headley is shared by the City of Gahanna and Jefferson Township; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to repair and resurface both of these roads; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has reached an agreement with Jefferson Township for participation in the needed work on both roads;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP AND CITY OF GAHANNA FOR RESURFACING AND REPAIRS TO SHULL ROAD AND HEADLEY ROAD, said Agreement attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding for this project, Improvement No. 697, was set aside in the 1998 Asphalt Overlay Account No. 101.145.5541, Streets, and is hereby authorized for this project in accordance with reimbursement from Jefferson Township as stated in the Agreement.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
