TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH W.E. STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, FOR DESIGN AND RIGHT OF WAY SERVICES FOR THE HAMILTON/GRANVILLE INTERSECTION; IMPROVEMENT NO. 883; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City has received proposal from Stilson Consulting for the design work and right of way services for the Hamilton/Granville intersection project; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended we proceed with Stilson for the work; and
WHEREAS, the City has received approval from the Ohio Department of Transportation to use Stilson Consulting to design the Hamilton/Granville intersection; Improvement No. 883; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the design work so that the actual construction can begin as soon as possible for the safety of the residents of Gahanna, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with W.E. STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, 355 East Campus View Blvd., Suite 250, Columbus, Ohio 43235, for design work and right of way services for the Hamilton/Granville Intersection project; Proposal attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED FORTY NINE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTEEN DOLLARS ($149,713) was set aside in the 2008 Appropriations to Account No. 101.145.5513, Engineering, Capital Streets, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
