TO RECLASSIFY A RECREATION SPECIALIST POSITION TO A RECREATION SUPERVISOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation requests that the Recreation Specialist position duties be incorporated into a new Recreation Supervisor position; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources and the Director of Parks & Recreation have requested a reclassification of the position of Recreation Specialist from a pay grade of 27 to a Recreation Supervisor at a grade of 33; and
WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Department are in the busiest season of the year for the department and it is imperative that they remain staffed all season, all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the City reclassify and change the position of a Recreation Specialist, pay grade 27, to Recreation Supervisor, pay grade 33, according to Article 2, Pay Ranges, of ORD-0004-2014, which is attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That the duties for the reclassified position shall be as outlined in EXHIBIT B, which is attached hereto.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and will be in full force and effect upon passage by Council and the signature of approval by the Mayor.
