TITLE

AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION EASEMENT WITH COLUMBIA GAS OF OHIO, INC

BODY

 

WHEREAS, Columbia Gas of Ohio, Inc. is proposing a pipeline replacement project known as the North Columbus High Pressure (“NCHP”) Pipeline Project; and

 

WHEREAS, the proposed pipeline will install approximately 19,000 feet of 24-inch diameter pipeline through the City of Gahanna, with field construction anticipated to begin in 2026; and

 

WHEREAS, Columbia Gas of Ohio requests a temporary construction easement for the purpose of additional workspace and material or equipment storage during the construction of a lateral pipeline; and

 

WHEREAS, the requested easement will traverse a parcel (025-010569) located on Taylor Station Road in the City of Gahanna.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That this Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to enter into a temporary construction easement agreement with Columbia Gas of Ohio, Inc, principal offices located at 290 West Nationwide Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43215; said temporary construction easement agreement terms set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and incorporated herein.

 

Section 2. That this Council hereby further authorizes the Mayor to enter into a supplemental agreement with Columbia Gas of Ohio, Inc., in accordance with the compensation, nontransferable, and nonrecordable terms set forth in EXHIBIT B, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.

 

Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
