TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH PARK ENTERPRISE CONSTRUCTION FOR HAMILTON ROAD SANITARY SEWER REPAIR; IMPROVEMENT NO. 987; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, an area of sanitary sewer along Hamilton Road is in need of immediate repair; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened on November 4, 2011 for the Hamilton Road Sanitary Repair project; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this legislation so that the sanitary sewer repair can take place as soon as possible, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with PARK ENTERPRISE CONSTRUCTION, 560 Barks Road West, Marion, Ohio 43302, for the Hamilton Road Sanitary Sewer Repair, Improvement No. 987; bid tab attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($27,160) was set aside in the 2011 Appropriations to Account No. 662.361.5596, Sanitary Capital Projects/Improvements, to cover there herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
