TITLE
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORD-0078-2022 ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES FOR PERSONNEL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2023, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2023, WAIVING SECOND READING, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BODY
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends additional changes to the 2023 Salary Ordinance passed as ORD-0078-2022; and
WHEREAS, these amendments include the additions of Manager - Planning at pay grade C21 and Supervisor - Customer Service at pay grade C17; and
WHEREAS, these amendments are needed to promptly assist in the backfilling of critical vacancies; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has determined that no supplemental appropriations are needed at this time; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends passage of the Ordinance as an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of public peace, safety, health, and welfare of the City to retain staff and competitively recruit qualified candidates for vacant positions essential to the City’s programs and services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby adopts the 2023 Salary Ordinance as amended and enacted as described in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That the second reading is hereby waived.
Section 3. That for the reasons set forth in the preamble, this Ordinance is declared an emergency, which shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
